Get a selfie at the summit with a panoramic view of the island and breathe the fresh air coming from the unique endemic black fir trees. Continue your day by spending some time for your inner peace at Saint Gerasimos Monastery. Saint Gerassimos dedicated his life to the Orthodox religion and to the people of Kefalonia. He built the monastery in 1560. Every year, on the 16h of August the Monastery celebrates in glory the patron Saint of the island.
Just a 10-minute drive away, at Omala plateau, you can visit the traditional vineyards where you can taste the famous local variety of Robola of the “Kefalonian Robola Wine Cooperative”.
Spend the rest of your day in Argostoli, the capital of the island. Museums, restaurants, shops and cafes are available at the city satisfying all your needs. Do not forget to buy the traditional candy “mandola”, available in most of the shops in Kefalonia. Within 15’ from Argostoli by car you will find yourself on the trendy beaches of Platis and Makris Gialos.
